The Detroit Lions made a few very familiar roster moves on Tuesday afternoon. Receiver Aaron Dobson, who was signed by the team last Wednesday before being waived on Saturday, has been added back to the 53-man active roster. Dobson was formerly with the Patriots and had been signed as receiver depth. However, when it became apparent that the Lions didn’t have enough healthy linebackers to play against the Packers, Dobson was waived.
Zaviar Gooden was the player the Lions brought up from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. Gooden spent time with the Lions during the offseason, but was cut just before the season started. The Lions brought him back last week as an emergency linebacker option and he ended up playing 50 percent of the defensive snaps against the Packers. However, Gooden was waived by the team on Monday.
Tuesday, the team announced that they had re-signed Gooden to the practice squad. Detroit no longer has any open spots on the roster nor the practice squad.
