PODcast: Positives about the offense, previewing the Chicago Bears and coaching talk

Get ready for Sunday with the resident Lions podcast you know and love.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

It’s best to put a lot of Green Bay behind us, especially here at the middle-point in the week. We don’t talk much about the Packers game here, but we do take away the positives: just how damn good this offense can be! That and the preview for Game 4 are what you can expect to find, along with a lot more, on the latest episode of the Pride Of Detroit PODcast.

Matthew Stafford is really good, far better than I could have ever hoped this year. Will he get even better? Luckily the Lions are playing the Bears, and while nothing is given in the NFL, it’d be a strange day if the Lions screwed this one away. But will they? We dissect the Bears and get you ready for Sunday while filling your head with some delicious kool-aid about this offense.

It’s rivalry week. #WeOwnTheBears.

This week on the PODcast

  • Let’s forget about the bad from Green Bay. Let’s talk about the offense! It’s really good! Let’s talk about Matthew Stafford and Marvin Jones, and who is behind the evolution of the Lions quarterback. Where does this offense rank in the NFL? Where does Stafford rank among quarterbacks right now this season?
  • It’s time to preview the Bears! They’re pretty bad, but what all is going wrong with them? We examine troubles at key positions, look at what’s been hurt by injuries and talk about whether Jay Cutler may be facing the fall of his career in Chicago.
  • Rage Corner gets mad at Twitter snitches and the Fox Sports score bug. Who needs a season record?
  • In Wally’s World, Wally gets really mad at Paul Finebaum and defends the honor of Maize n’ Blue.
  • Mailbag takes a crack at some early talk of the Lions coaching situation, reshuffles NFL quarterbacks to find out where Stafford would go right now and generally just kind of gets jealous about how good the Patriots got it.
