Tuesday open thread: Do you still wear jerseys?

Are you ever too old to be wearing sports jerseys?

NFL: International Series-Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs Steve Flynn-USA TODAY Sports

When taking a step back for a moment, it’s pretty weird that fans wear jerseys. There are plenty of ways we can support our favorite team without dressing like them. We could wear hats or t-shirts or just wave a foam finger around.

Regardless, from an extremely young age, sports fans are taught to don their favorite sports team’s jersey of their favorite player.

So today’s Questions of the Day (with a little help from Ryan Mathews) are :

Do you still wear Detroit Lions jerseys? If so, whose jersey? Whose jersey that you don’t own currently would you want to own next?

My answers: Yes, of course I still wear jerseys. I wear them when I go to games. I wear them when I go to a viewing party. I wear them when I watch the Lions by myself. I currently have a Matthew Stafford and DeAndre Levy jersey. I have been able to wear the Levy jersey for exactly one half of football. I’m hoping to use it a little more this year.

As for my next jersey, I’m probably going to hold off on that for awhile, considering my terrible history of jersey curses. But if I were to theoretically buy a new jersey, it would probably be Darius Slay. BUT I’M NOT BUYING A DARIUS SLAY JERSEY, OH HATEFUL JERSEY GODS. PLEASE DO NOT SMITE THE YOUNG CORNERBACK.

Your turn.
