Lions-Colts injury report: Andrew Luck doesn’t throw in practice, but is ‘going to be ready’

Thursday’s injury report for the Detroit Lions revealed nothing new that the team didn’t announce in Wednesday’s report. Again, all 53 players were participating in practice in some capacity.

Eric Ebron, for the first time since suffering his injury a month ago, practiced on two consecutive days, meaning he didn’t suffer any sort of setback from Wednesday. He, once again, was a full participant in practice, so he has to be considered a lock to start on Sunday, presuming something else doesn’t happen along the way.

Golden Tate fully practiced after being limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday. There doesn’t appear to be any reason for concern regarding his availability against the Colts.

Speaking of Indianapolis, their injury situation continues to be precarious. Andrew Luck was again limited in practice today, and the situation seems worse than it was the day before:

That being said, the Colts’ general manager Ryan Grigson doesn’t seem too worried. He told Dan Dakich that Luck is “going to be ready for the game this weekend.” Still, at this point it looks like Luck won’t be at 100 percent.

In better new for the Colts, guard Jack Mewhort looks to be progressing nicely:

Strangely, the Colts’ owner Jim Irsay declared Mewhort out earlier in the week, but it appears that may have been a bit premature. Mewhort was still listed as limited in practice on Thursday, but if the Colts could get him back in time for the opener, it would be a huge boost to their shaky offensive line.

The only change in the report for the Colts was guard Joe Haeg was limited in practice after sitting out Wednesday.
