Pride Of Detroit’s 2016 Detroit Lions awards: The nominees

Give us your nominations for the best players, moments and games of the 2016 Detroit Lions season.

NFL: Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions have begun to hand out end of the year awards, as voted by the players. However, we at Pride Of Detroit, have a tradition of awarding our own honors to the team. Granted, we don’t actually send an award to the players, nor are they likely aware of them at all. Still, it feels important to ask readers what their opinion of the team is to get an outsider opinion of the team.

Before we start handing out figurative hardware, we have to get nominees for all 10 categories. In the comment section, please give your nominations for each of the categories below. You can nominate as many players/moments/games as you want for each category, and I will pick out the best four or five options for each category.

Here at the categories:

  • Most Valuable Player
  • Offensive Player of the Year
  • Defensive Player of the Year
  • Special Teams Player of the Year
  • Breakout Player of the Year
  • Rookie of the Year
  • Game of the Year
  • Moment of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Pride Of Detroit moment of the year (site specific)

Once we have our nominations, voting will begin for each category. We will run each poll for around a week, and after voting is over, winners will be announced in a separate post.

Let the nomination process begin!
