We’re less than two weeks away from Super Bowl LI. While most of us are probably eager for the game between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, there are a few other attractions for the lesser football fans watching the game. There are the newly rolled out commercials and highly anticipated movie trailers, but no spectacle is bigger than the Super Bowl halftime show.
This year, Lady Gaga will be performing the halftime show for the first time in her career. However, halftime shows are rarely orchestrated for the average football fan, as the planner usually aim for an artist with broader appeal than just sports fans. So today’s Question of the Day is:
Who would be your ideal Super Bowl halftime performer?
My answer: I fear I don’t have a great answer for this, but I’ll just go with what came to mind first: Rage Against the Machine. I saw Rage once live at Lollapalooza in 2008 and the environment was absolutely insane. I would love to see how that sort of anti-establishment crowd would clash with the overproduced environment of the Super Bowl. Maybe they do something crazy, maybe they just put on a banging show. Either way, my eyes would be glued to the TV.
Your turn.
