- Michael Rothstein of ESPN had a very interesting story about Detroit Lions fifth-round draft pick Joe Dahl. According to Dahl himself, Washington State did not prepare him for life in the NFL and he spent the majority of the season just learning how an NFL-style offense works. This may explain why Dahl was inactive for the majority of the season, despite poor guard play.
- NFL Network analyst Bucky Brooks believes the Lions need to draft a workhorse back because he thinks Ameer Abdullah is just a complementary back.
- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said this week that “Thursday Night Football” games have been getting better in quality. Tahir Whitehead disagrees:
- CBS analyst and former NFL player Bart Scott believes Matthew Stafford has done more than enough to earn a major contract extension.
- Tim Twentyman and Tori Petry do a good job recapping the week of Senior Bowl practice in this five-minute video.
- Petry also caught up with Lions director of player personnel Kyle O’Brien earlier in the week to discuss the importance of the Senior Bowl. We don’t hear from O’Brien too often, so this is worth your time.
- Will the Lions try to retain right tackle Riley Reiff? Detroit Jock City’s Erik Schlitt explains why he thinks the team will be unable to re-sign him.
