The next step in the Detroit Lions’ preparation for the 2017 NFL Draft is the Senior Bowl. While most of the Lions contingent has been busy all week with interviews and practice observations, it all will culminate in Saturday’s exhibition game between the North All Stars and the South All Stars.
But this will also be a great opportunity for the general public to see these players in a high pressure, high talent level competition. Earlier in the week, our own Kent Lee Platte broke down the top players to watch from both the North team and the South team.
The Lions come into this Senior Bowl with a scouting team much more prepared than they were last year, when Bob Quinn was still on the heels of overhauling the Lions’ entire drafting process. That’s important, because this draft is crucial for the Lions’ future. There are several holes on this roster, and because the Lions only have one extra pick in the draft this year, they’re going to need to be efficient with their draft choices.
Anyways, if you want to watch the game along with us, we’ll have an open thread ready a half an hour before the game. In the meantime, here’s how you can watch the event.
