Now that the Detroit Lions have confirmed that Jim Caldwell will remain their head coach in 2017, it’s time to hear from Lions fans.
Caldwell’s popularity during his tenure with the Detroit Lions has varied wildly. In our monthly approval polls, Caldwell has landed as high as a 91 percent approval rating back in July of 2015, hot off Detroit’s 11-5 season. But it dropped all the way to 8 percent just four months later when the Lions started the 2015 season 1-7.
This year alone has been a roller coaster with Caldwell. After Detroit’s rocky 1-2 start, Caldwell polled in at 22 percent in September, but managed to bump that up all the way to 76 percent in the midst of Detroit 8-1 run in the middle of the season. With Detroit’s stumble at the finish line, Caldwell marked in at a 44 percent approval rating before their showdown with the Packers last week.
There are plenty of reasons for both sides of the argument in keeping and getting rid of Caldwell, but I want to hear it from you. Do you approve of the move from the Lions? Why or why not?
