Lions injury report: Swanson, Reiff practicing in drills

The starting center remains doubtful but Reiff could be returning soon.

The Thursday report looks awfully like the Wednesday report, with only four Lions listed as limited in practice and signs pointing towards Riley Reiff returning to the Lions line in time for the Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks. Reiff’s return could bring back arguably Detroit’s best offensive tackle this season, who missed the Green Bay game to end the season.

Travis Swanson, who was supposed to address the media on Thursday, was not present in the locker room. He has missed the past four games dealing with a concussion. His absence has forced the Detroit Lions to make adjustments along the line as guard Graham Glasgow fills in for him at center. Though he wasn’t in the locker room, Swanson did practice more than normal, indicating he’s headed in the right direction.

The Lions remain thin at running back, with only Zach Zenner, Dwayne Washington and Joique Bell healthy. Many fans hold out hope for a return of Ameer Abdullah. While he was present in the locker room on Thursday, there was no news about his progress.

This close to the game, it is probably unlikely to see Abdullah play if there has been no statement as to his condition.

For the Seahawks, head coach Pete Carroll declared defensive tackle Tony McDaniel out for Saturday’s game, as he deals with a concussion suffered last week. C.J. Prosise is also very unlikely to play, as a shoulder injury continues to sideline him. Richard Sherman got a day off of practice, but that’s it for Seattle. Both teams are relatively healthy right now.
