The national media may not be giving the Detroit Lions and chance at upsetting the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night, but we here at Pride Of Detroit think thats more than a possibility. Despite Detroit’s three-game losing streak, the staff here remains shockingly optimistic about their chances against a Seahawks team that has won nine straight home playoff games.
Six of our 11 staff members are picking the Lions to win outright on Saturday night, while all but one of us (KYLE YOST), think the Lions will beat the eight-point spread. Here’s a look at our picks for the week:
Andrew Kato (11-5): 20-16 Lions
Kyle Yost (11-5): 28-17 Seahawks
Joseph Buszek (10-6): 17-9 Lions
Ryan Mathews (10-6): 24-17 Seahawks
Alex Reno (10-6): 19-18 Lions
Brian Packey (9-6): 24-20 Seahawks
Jeremy Reisman (9-7): 23-17 Seahawks
Chris Lemieux (8-8): 37-32 Lions
Mike Payton (8-8): Lions win
Justin Simon (8-8): 24-20 Lions
Kent Lee Platte (7-8): 17-14 Seahawks
While we remain optimistic, there isn’t a lot of hope outside of the Detroit. SB Nation only has one of eight analysts picking Detroit. None of ESPN’s nine experts picked the Lions. The same goes for the eight columnists at CBS Sports.
