The Detroit Lions dropped their one-and-only playoff game with a disappointing performance all around. There were a lot of bad plays Saturday night, but let’s try to focus on the positive one more time.
Here are the Game Ball standings after the regular season.
23 - Matthew Stafford
8 - Matt Prater
9 - Golden Tate
8 - Sam Martin
6 - Theo Riddick
6 - Darius Slay
6 - Eric Ebron
6 - Zach Zenner
5 - Marvin Jones
4 - Rafael Bush
3 - Tahir Whitehead
3 - Andre Roberts
3 - Kerry Hyder
2 - Jeff Triplette
1 - Devin Taylor
1 - Ameer Abdullah
1 - Johnson Bademosi
1 - Miles Killebrew
1 - Anquan Boldin
Ezekiel Ansah
The Lions actually had a pass rush for the first time, well, maybe all year. Ansah mostly looked like his old self all game. He finished with two sacks, four QB hits and eight total tackles. He was the lone bright spot in an otherwise leaky defense.
Zach Zenner
Not much went right on offense, but little blame goes to Detroit’s tailback, Zach Zenner, who tallied 88 total yards from scrimmage and actually led the team with six catches. He had a particularly impressive catch on a screen play where he didn’t even have his head turned when the ball was released from Matthew Stafford.
Matt Prater
Two 50+ yard field goals on the road in the playoffs. Can’t do any better than that.
Taylor Decker
The Lions' pass protection held up incredibly well against a good Seahawks pass rush. Decker and even Cornelius Lucas held up incredibly well against the likes of Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and Frank Clark. In total, the Lions allowed three sacks, but two of those came well after the game was out of hand.
Tavon Wilson
Wilson quietly had a very strong end to the season. His tackling was sound in the run game and he often had to make very difficult open-field stop. Wilson finished the game with seven tackles on the day.
