What a beautiful morning for some (virtual) football.
Let’s enjoy each other’s company while we have the time because next week is already the bye week. That’s good news for a hobbled Matthew Stafford and the Lions, not such good news for the weekly Madden sim.
But let’s not wallow too much in our own sadness, we got a matchup this week that should provide for tons of offense and lots of excitement between the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints.
After a rough start to their season, the Saints have since turned things around. Convincing wins against the Carolina Panthers and the Miami Dolphins in back-to-back weeks have helped reestablish them as a team to keep an eye on in the second quarter stretch of 2017.
Per usual for the past decade or so, the Saints calling card is their high-powered offense. Led by sure-fire, first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees (91 overall), New Orleans has an offense that can beat you in all sorts of ways. Michael Thomas (85), the second-year receiver out of Ohio State, has emerged as a legitimate No. 1 threat in the passing game. The Saints also tout a pair of talented running backs in Mark Ingram (83) and rookie sensation Alvin Kamara (79).
Be sure to jump over to our live stream starting at 11:00 a.m. ET to keep up with the conversation and join a bunch of us who love to watch Madden be Madden. Also, these things are finally available On Demand through Twitch, so if you can’t make the live broadcast, no biggie, you have 14 days to go back and check out all the action you missed out on.
Once the clock strikes 11:00, the stream will begin below.
It’s Detroit Lions vs. New Orleans Saints. This time, it’s (not) for real.
