Lions-Saints first half open thread, live blog

The Detroit Lions are at a crossroads. Win today and they’ll win back a large portion of their fanbase who had their faith tested after last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. Lose, and Detroit will be flooded with proclamations of “Same Old Lions” for the next two weeks.

The New Orleans Saints stand in the way at the crossroads. They’re a team, themselves, that has a lot to prove. Are they the team that got worked by the Vikings and Patriots in the first two weeks of the season? Or are they the team that shut down Cam Newton and the Panthers and followed it up with a shutout against the Dolphins.

Motivation will be at a premium on Sunday afternoon in the Big Easy, as both teams will be desperately trying to keep pace with their respective division leaders.
