Lions injury update: Glover Quin knocked out of Saints game with concussion

Glover Quin’s ironman streak could be in danger.

NFL: Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

In a game Detroit Lions fans would like to completely erase from the record books forever, the worst news may have come early in the third quarter. Glover Quin attempted to make a tackle on Alvin Kamara and was promptly run over by the Saints running back, along with another Lions player.

Quin was not moving immediately after the play and looked to be very seriously injured. As Quin remained down for several minutes, both Lions and Saints players took a knee beside him, hoping for the best for the defensive leader of Detroit.

Eventually, Quin would get up and walk off the field with the help of Lions medical trainers, but he had a bit of glazed over look in his eyes.

The Lions have ruled Quin out for the remainder of the game with a concussion.

Quin has started 122 consecutive games in the NFL without missing a single contest. As a result, the Lions signed him to a two-year extension this offseason. Though the Lions have a bye week next week, Quin’s streak could be in danger.
