The Detroit Lions are already back at practice to prepare for their Week 8 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, but we haven’t yet completely turned the page on Week 7 of the NFL.
There is still a big game to be played between the 5-1 Philadelphia Eagles and 3-2 Washington.
Currently both Washington and Philadelphia hold playoff spots, with the Eagles holding the best record in the entire league. Washington is clinging to the final Wild Card spot, but a loss tonight would drop them to .500, among the likes of the Cowboys, Lions and Falcons.
Interestingly enough, these two teams have already faced off this year. Washington couldn’t protect their home field advantage in Week 1 of the season, as the Eagles came out victorious 30-17 in a closer game than the score suggests.
According to our Week 7 Rooting Guide, Lions fans should be rooting for the Eagles, though you could make an argument for either team really. My rationale: Let the Eagles run away with the division and hope that everyone else in the NFC East fails, leaving potential for an extra Wild Card spot in the NFC North.
