Where do you think the Lions rank in their conference?

NFL: Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday, we saw the hype around the Detroit Lions continue to build. Several publications ranked the Lions as the second-best team in the entire NFL in their Week 5 power rankings. While some were a little more cautious with the team—for example, ESPN has them at No. 9—Detroit is still a unanimous top 10 team according to experts.

Where they rank among the NFC is another question entirely. If we’re talking mathematically, the Lions are currently ranked No. 2 in the conference, when taking into account playoff seeding tiebreakers.

But let’s throw seeding aside and use our own brains and opinions. Today’s Question of the Day is:

Where do you think the Lions rank in the NFC right now?

My answer: Let’s look at what appears to be the top teams in the NFC right now:

Lions (3-1)
Falcons (3-1)
Packers (3-1)
Eagles (3-1)
Rams (3-1)
Panthers (3-1)
Buccaneers (2-1)

You could also potentially throw teams like the Cowboys (2-2) and Washington (2-2) in there, but, for now, I’m going to stick with the one-loss teams.

Among those seven teams, here’s how I would rank them:

  1. Falcons
  2. Packers
  3. Lions
  4. Rams
  5. Eagles
  6. Panthers
  7. Buccaneers

I know I’ll probably catch a lot of flak for putting the Packers above the Lions, but until someone in the NFC North actually takes down the Green Bay Aaron Rodgerses, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Your turn.
