Lions-Panthers inactives: Jarrad Davis makes his return, all starters active

The Lions finally get their rookie linebacker back.

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions currently have a laundry list of injuries and have already announced that three players will not be available for Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers earlier in the week.

Eight players were listed as “Questionable” heading into today, with seven of those names being starters. The status of Jarrad Davis has been up in the air after he was supposedly ready to lace ‘em up last Sunday before dealing with a setback and a new neck injury. Fortunately for Lions fans, Davis is back and will make his return on Sunday against the Panthers.

Tahir Whitehead (pectoral) was also listed as “Questionable,” but like Davis, he was able to participate in practice (limited) all week. Whitehead is ACTIVE for Sunday’s game, so the Lions will get their top two linebackers back.

Guard T.J. Lang (back) and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (shoulder) missed practice twice this week, but it appears that coaches may just be playing it safe with their vets. The Lions will have both of these large, adult males ACTIVE and ready to suit up against Carolina.
