First off, I’m so sorry for subjecting you to this headlining picture, but I absolutely had to use it for this article just to acknowledge this existence. Three poor souls from three different fanbases purchased Jay Cutler jerseys and somehow converged upon North Carolina this cold November night.
What is the story of these three people? Are they relatives of Jay Cutler? Are they the (presumably) only members of the Jay Cutler Fan Club, and this is their yearly meetup?
I don’t know what the answer is, and I’m not sure I want to know, but that picture is mind-blowing.
What I do know is that tonight’s “Monday Night Football” game actually has some playoff implications regarding the Detroit Lions. The Carolina Panthers host the Miami Dolphins in a battle between two teams fighting for spots in their respective conferences.
The Panthers (6-3) are currently a game ahead of the Lions in the wild card race and have the head-to-head tiebreaker of Detroit. If the Lions are putting their hopes into a wild card spot, the Panthers are one of those teams that they likely need to drop a few games down the stretch. There are some tough games ahead for them, including a road trip to New Orleans and a home game against the Vikings, but a loss tonight would really help the Lions.
So root for Three Shade of Jay tonight, and be sure to take a shower afterwards.
