It’s Week 11 and the Detroit Lions are in the thick of the NFC playoff race. Let’s take a moment to be thankful of that. We’ve been through decades and decades of meaningless November football, and it honestly feels good to wake up with that nervous pit in your stomach on a chilly Sunday morning.
This week’s source of anxiety is the Chicago Bears, who are all too familiar with meaningless November football as of late. At 3-6, the Bears are well on their way to their fourth-straight 10-loss season, and they’ve been particularly haunted by this Lions team.
Detroit has won seven of the last eight contests between the two teams. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when you consider the overall records of these two teams since the 2013 season:

But Chicago has already matched their win total for 2016 and, although they’re on a two-game losing streak, they’ve contended nearly every week and are ripe to play spoiler in the final two months.
Can the Lions avoid dropping this game before Thursday’s huge Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Vikings? Or is Detroit due for a letdown game?
