For the second straight week, the Detroit Lions will be without their starting defensive end, Ezekiel Ansah, who was already declared “Out” on this week’s injury report. Cornelius Washington did a fairly decent job last week filling in for Ansah against the Cleveland Browns, and finished the game with two sacks.
With Dwayne Washington also inactive, it appears the Lions are ready to give Zach Zenner another shot as the No. 3 running back. Zenner hasn’t seen a single snap this year since Week 6 against the Saints.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Don Carey were both listed as “Questionable” on last week’s injury report. Carey is active this week, but Reeves-Maybin will miss his second consecutive game against the Chicago Bears.
On the Bears side, linebacker Danny Trevathan (calf) hadn’t practiced in two weeks and will be INACTIVE against the Lions. This could be huge for the Lions’ offense, as Trevathan is currently the 10th ranked linebacker via Pro Football Focus and has the fourth-best coverage grade.
