We’ve officially crossed over into the second half of the 2017 NFL season as Week 9 is minutes away from kicking off.

“Thursday Night Football” returns with an AFC matchup that probably looks better now than it did before the season started. The Buffalo Bills are 5-2 and even made a bold move to snag Kelvin Benjamin right before the trade deadline. Benjamin is inactive tonight, so we’ll have to wait until next week to see how he gels with Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Even the Jets are better than expected. Many though New York may be one of the worst teams in football, but the Jets are 3-5 through eight games (maybe they meant the other New York team). The Jets aren’t really a team that’s great at anything, but they’re not really horrible either. They can run the ball decently, and have a few receiving threats, too.

But both teams preach solid defensive play, so we could be in for a low-scoring affair tonight. If that doesn’t appeal to you, unfortunately there’s no Detroit Lions angle to take here. Two AFC teams have no playoff implications for Detroit, and the Lions don’t play either of these teams this year.

So if you’re down to watch just for the love of the game, here’s how you can do so.
