On Monday, the Detroit Lions announced that recording artist Jason Derulo will be performing at halftime on Thanksgiving Day when the Lions will face off against the Minnesota Vikings in a big NFC North showdown.
If you’re like me and don’t know who Jason Derulo is, he is a popular songwriter whose hits include “Watcha Say,” “In my Head,” and “Ridin’ Solo.”
The Lions chose Derulo despite a late, desperate attempt from Pride of Detroit and their readers to get Toto (famous for their anthem “Africa”) to perform at halftime:

Pleasssse Be Toto!

Unfortunately, our pleas fell upon deaf ears. Still, I’m sure Jason Derulo is a fine artist and singer. His music doesn’t exactly seem like my cup of tea, but I’m willing to give him a chance. Who knows? Maybe I’ll expand my music catalogue and find a new artist to like.
In fact, let me look into some of his songs on YouTube. Oh, here’s one called “Fight For You.”
OH MY GOD, HE SINGS “AFRICA” TO OPEN THIS SONG. HE’S THE GREATEST. PLEASE SING THIS SONG ON THURSDAY.
