The Pride of Detroit staff is on a roll! For two straight weeks, we have all unanimously picked the outcome of the Detroit Lions game correctly.
This week presents an interesting dilemma. Do we trust in the fact that the Lions defeated the Vikings back in Minnesota two months ago? Or do we place a lot of importance on how the two teams have played since that Week 4 matchup? The Lions have since struggled against the better teams in the conference, while the Vikings have plowed through all that have challenged them.
It’s not an easy puzzle to solve, and that’s why the Pride of Detroit staff is split this week. Here are our picks:
Alex Reno (8-2): 28-25 Lions
Chris Perfett (7-3): 33-11 Vikings
Mike Payton (7-3): 17-14 Lions
Justin Simon (7-3): 20-17 Lions
Ryan Mathews (7-3): 21-17 Vikings
Kent Lee Platte (6-4): 20-17 Lions
Jeremy Reisman (6-4): 27-13 Vikings
Kyle Yost (5-5): 24-23 Vikings
Jerry Mallory (5-4): 23-20 Lions
Andrew Kato (4-4): 27-19 Lions
Six of our ten staffers are sticking with the Lions this week. Interestingly enough, every prediction that has the Lions winning has a margin of victory within one possession.
The same can’t be said for those who chose the Vikings. In two of those predictions, the final score suggests a near-blowout for Minnesota.
Based on what I’ve seen in a lot of comments this week, that seems to be the consensus in this game: Either the Lions come out victorious in another nail-biter, or things get ugly, and the Vikings dominate.
Now it’s your turn to be heard. Vote for the winner in the poll below and be sure to give your score prediction in the comments for a chance to win our weekly On Paper challenge.
