There’s no way around it: Week 12 flat-out sucked for the Detroit Lions. Their NFC North title chances are essentially gone. They lost ground on the Panthers, Falcons, Rams, Vikings, Eagles and Seahawks this week, and now they’re in danger of being in a win-out-or-bust scenario.
So the least the NFL could do for us is end this stupid night with a Packers loss, right?
Green Bay is still in the playoff race, but they’re in just as desperate of a situation as the Lions, if not, even worse. But with upcoming games against the Buccaneers and Browns, they’re poised to make a potential run, because... uh oh:

Yeah, so if the Packers can somehow escape Pittsburgh with a huge upset over the Steelers, suddenly 8-5 becomes a real possibility with Aaron Rodgers eligible to return to play.
Now, we’re getting way ahead of ourselves here. Green Bay is a big 14-point underdog tonight, and if Green Bay drops to 5-6, that may be a hole too big to crawl out of.
