The Lions had several players sidelined during Wednesday’s practice, but perhaps none were more surprising than starting running back Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah managed to finish Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings without incident, but according to Detroit’s first injury report of the week, he is dealing with a neck injury.
Abdullah has started all 11 games this season after missing the majority of 2016 with a lisfranc injury. Though his play has come under fire recently, he still leads the team with 505 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
But Abdullah wasn’t the only player with a new injury. T.J. Lang missed practice with a foot issue. Lang has a couple games this year with a few different injuries. He missed the Browns game due to a concussion, while a back flare-up caused him to miss Week 6’s game against the Saints.
Additionally, the injury that caused Travis Swanson to sit out on Wednesday was officially listed as a knee injury. Swanson left Thursday’s game against the Vikings and did not return.
On the positive side, Matthew Stafford was a full participant on Wednesday, apparently not limited by the ankle injury suffered on Thanksgiving. Perhaps more notably, Ezekiel Ansah was completely absent from the injury report for the first time all season.
For the Ravens, the team just held a walk-through on Wednesday after playing on Monday night. Starting running back Alex Collins sat with a new calf injury, while some key defenders were limited in their participation. The full injury reports follow:
