Kickoff is just minutes away, and it has already been a whirlwind of a morning. Reports have leaked that Jim Caldwell’s contract was not exactly as “multi-year” as previously reported. His contract is technically only through 2018, making him essentially much more fireable should the rest of the season not go as planned. Additionally, there are rumors that Ameer Abdullah is being benched due to performance, not injury. And on top of that, we’re all waiting to see what Matthew Stafford will look like given his hand injury.

So there’s a lot of drama happening with the Lions today, and it continues with a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Lions playoff hopes are on life support and they are essentially dead with a loss on Sunday.

The futures of players like Travis Swanson, Tahir Whitehead and Ezekiel Ansah could also be on the line in the final four games.

In other words, there is plenty to watch for in Week 14, even if the team’s playoff chances are tenuous, at best.

So come watch Sunday’s game with us and comment below. Remember to follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
