The Detroit Lions named Akeem Spence captain for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers knowing the defensive tackle was extra motivated to face his former team. Spence said earlier in the week that he still held some animosity against the Buccaneers after they failed to offer him a second contract. Spence thought he played well enough to earn some consideration, but Tampa didn’t come calling.
“It’s just something where you’ve been somewhere for four years and you help build it up and then you got to go disappear elsewhere,” Spence said. “I took that kind of personal cause I felt like I was one of the good guys around that building.”
So Spence wanted blood. He even promised a “bloodbath.” And while his stats were modest on Sunday (3 tackles, 1 QB hit), the Lions got the win and Spence was smiling from ear to ear in the locker room.
Then he did this:

That’s right, Spence did the Jameis Winston “eat a W” celebration.
Spence came into the game with a grudge, even saying, “I’m very bitter.” But I bet that W doesn’t taste too bitter right now.
