The dust has settled on the NFC for Week 14 and the Detroit Lions find themselves in a slightly better position. Thanks to losses by the Seahawks and Rams, the Lions can realistically jump into seventh place in the conference as soon as next week.
To get themselves into a playoff spot, they’re going to need a little more help than that. You can look at our Week 14 NFC Playoff Picture article for more information on that.
But it’s Sunday night and it’s time to wind down with some meaningless football.
Of course, the Sunday night game is far from meaningless for the teams involved. The Pittsburgh Steelers (10-2) are trying to keep pace with the New England Patriots to stay atop the AFC. While the Baltimore Ravens (7-5) are hoping to close to gap in the AFC North and hold onto a wild card spot while they’re at it. A Ravens win would keep them solidly in the five-seed, while a loss would create a sloppy four-team tie at 7-6.
So let’s watch some good football between two good teams, and try to forget the time the Lions lost to both.
