It’s Thursday Night Football but on Saturday afternoon instead! Get it?
Yeah, me neither.
But the Detroit Lions are playing and that’s all that really matter. At 7-6, their desperately holding onto some playoff chances. A loss on Saturday and they can kiss those goodbye.
In their way are the Chicago Bears, a team coming off a decisive win over the Bengals, but remain a disappointing 4-9 on the season.
The last time the two teams met, the Lions escaped Soldier Field with a 27-24 victory thanks, in part, to a last-second missed field goal from Connor Barth.
The Lions have absolutely everything to play for, while the Bears—presumably with a lame duck coaching staff—has nothing. That hasn’t stopped the Bears from playing spoiler in the past, and given how competitive theses games have been in the past, I would expect another close game on Saturday.
