Two more games. That’s all that is left in the Detroit Lions’ 2017 regular season. Before you know it, it’ll all be over and we’ll be throwing our hopes into 2018.
But the Lions are far from done in 2017. Should the Football Gods shine down upon them over the next two weeks, the Lions could find themselves in the postseason for the second season in a row. That hasn’t happened for this franchise since 1995.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, the Lions must defeat the Bengals in Cincinnati on Sunday. The Bengals are out of the playoffs and coming off two drubbing at the hands of other NFC North teams. They’re a little bit more healthy than they were in those games, but with much less motivation now that playoffs are distant, unobtainable dream.
Marvin Lewis may be making his farewell tour in Cincinnati as rumors swirl about the end of his head coaching career for the Bengals. We’ll see if Cincinnati has motivation to send him off with a couple of wins.
