I refuse to be hoodwinked into this mess, these “Lions songs of games” and “football reactions” after a terrible game, and I just happen to have a belly of vodka. But Jeremy said it was my turn, and we’re almost done with this miserable game and the season. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
Lions - Bengals Song of the Game: “Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer” by Elmo & Patsy
I have a lot of questions about this song, how it came about and why people find it endearing. But moreover, it’s a good song to think about in regards to the Lions. Who, in this case, is grandma? Who is the reindeer? The narrator? The newly bachelor-ized grandpa? If reindeer did kill grandma who is Santa Claus? So many questions, but still a mangled corpse on the side of I-75 wearing Honolulu blue.
I know this will post a day after Christmas, but since the scene of the crime took place “walking home from our house Christmas eve” then this stands. It also doesn’t take a lot of imagination, or bourbon, to reimagine a bengal as a reindeer. We’ll make it work somehow.
Note: Week 3’s choice of “Sober” by Tool has been replaced by “Popcorn” by Hot Butter because Tool is not currently available on the platform and “Popcorn” is hilarious.
