Lions Week 17 injury report: Offensive line finally looking healthy

New, comments

It’s too late to really matter, but the Lions may have their starting five offensive linemen back.

NFL: Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions only have one game left in the season, and for only the second time all year, they may have their entire starting offensive line intact.

Detroit practiced on Wednesday in preparation for the Green Bay Packers and all five starters on the offensive line practiced.

T.J. Lang returned for the first time since leaving Week 15’s game against the Bears with a lingering foot injury. His replacement, Don Barclay, was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week after suffering a concussion on Sunday.

More good news came for Travis Swanson, who has missed three consecutive games with a concussion. Swanson was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, indicating he’s likely close to clearing concussion protocol to play on Sunday. This is the second straight year Swanson has suffered a late-season concussion and missed multiple games. That uncertainty may give Detroit pause in playing him on Sunday in a meaningless game.

New to the injury report is tight end Eric Ebron, who was listed with a knee injury. Ebron is coming off yet another impressive performance, pulling in five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Ebron was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, but the local media on hand did not see him take part during the open portion of practice.

For the Packers, they have quite a beat up squad, but no name is more important than wide receiver Jordy Nelson. Nelson injured his shoulder against the Vikings on Saturday and did not practice on Wednesday.
