As luck would have it, the Detroit Lions appear to be nearing the best health all year just in time to play the Green Bay Packers in a season finale with both teams out of the playoff race.
In their final injury report of the season, the Lions only listed two players with gameday designations. Nevin Lawson is out with a concussion suffered last week, while Anthony Zettel is questionable after a groin injury popped up for the first time on Friday.
With Lawson out, the Lions will likely increase the playing time for DJ Hayden and/or rookie cornerback Teez Tabor. Lawson and Hayden have been trading time as the second outside corner opposite Darius Slay, but Tabor has slowly seen his role increase with this defense over the past month.
The Lions’ offensive line promises to be the healthiest it has been in a few weeks. Although Travis Swanson was placed on injured reserve on Friday, T.J. Lang and Rick Wagner—both of whom missed last week’s game— were both full participants in practice on Friday and are expected to play.
The Packers, on the other hand, will be missing quite a few starters in the finale:
McCarthy: Davante Adams, Jahri Evans, Richard Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Nick Perry & Aaron Jones all OUT for Sunday. #GBvsDET
