The NFL schedule is out, and the Detroit Lions got not one, not two, but three primetime games in 2017. In addition to that, they’re lined up for a Thanksgiving Day rematch with the Minnesota Vikings and a season finale rematch with the Green Bay Packers.
The schedule has received mostly positive feedback from Lions fans. After polling our readers, 60 percent of fans either liked or loved the schedule, while only two percent hated it. But I’m more interested in which games Lions fans are most intrigued by. So today’s Question of the Day is:
Which Detroit Lions game are you looking forward to the most in 2017?
My answer: While I’m obviously always most excited about the season’s start, and I think a home game against the Cardinals is a great way to kick off 2017, Sunday night against the Steelers should be a sight to see. The Lions are no stranger to “Sunday Night Football” games, but Pittsburgh is a rare opponent for Detroit. In fact, the Lions have only played the Steelers at Ford Field once in franchise history.
The Lions don’t have a great recent history with the Steelers. In their last nine matchups—dating back to 1986—the Lions have won just a single game. But Detroit has turned the page on the team of the past three decades. They’ll get a chance to prove they can hang with one of the best franchises the NFL has to offer, and they can do it on national television.
Your turn.
