Now that the NFL schedule is out, it makes the Detroit Lions 2017 season seem much closer to being a reality. It also means that oddsmakers can take their first crack at opening lines for each NFL game.

The Lions open the 2017 season at home for the first time since 2014 and will face a Cardinals team that finished last year with a 7-8-1 record. Detroit has lost seven straight games against Arizona, but despite that fact, the Lions open up as a three-point favorite over the Cardinals, according to BetOnline.AG.

Recently, the Lions have seen a ton of success on opening week. They have won five of their past six Week 1 games, including three straight victories at home.

But the oddsmakers aren’t that bullish on the Detroit Lions for 2017. VegasInsider.com has the Lions at 70-1 odds to win Super Bowl LII, the ninth-longest odds in the NFL. Only the Chicago Bears (125-1) have longer odds within the NFC North. The Packers (12-1) have the third-best odds in the league, while the Vikings (30-1) land right in the middle of the league.

Of course, this is all insanely premature considering the NFL Draft has yet to take place, but it’s still interesting to see Vegas’ perception of the Lions and their chances given their 2017 schedule.
