- After rumors leaked on Monday, Adrian Peterson made it official and signed a two-year deal with the Saints on Tuesday. The Lions face the Saints in Week 6 of the 2017 season, but the real headline here is that the Saints head to Minnesota to play the Vikings in Week 1 of the season.
- Our friend Brett Kollmann of the SB Nation Texans blog, Battle Red Blog, has quietly been creating some amazing draft content. His latest, this full first-round mock draft video, is not only a great, thorough piece, but he has the perfect pick for the Detroit Lions at 21. I recommend watching the entire thing, but if you’re just interested in the Lions pick, skip to the 41:28 mark:
- Many Lions players are seeing the new helmets for the first time during this week’s workouts, and it appears they like them:

- Today’s Mock Draft of the Day comes from MMQB’s Peter King, who joins the unpopular group of analysts slotting David Njoku to the Lions at 21.
- After announcing his retirement from the NFL, Stephen Tulloch wasted no time in getting back to his humanitarian efforts:
- Darius Slay has worked out numerous times with new Lions cornerback D.J. Hayden and is very familiar with his game and hard work.
- Toledo running back Kareem Hunt said that during his meeting with the Lions, he and the running backs coach, David Walker, have “a good connection.”
- Former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has no desire to retire, according to his agent.
