NFL Draft results: Bears trade up, hilariously take a quarterback

Let the schadenfreude flow through you.

It only took two picks for the NFL Draft to get wacky. The Chicago Bears trading up one spot from Pick 3 to Pick 2 was puzzling enough. Then it turns out the Bears paid a heavy ransom just to move to the No. 2 pick. Here’s it ended up costing them:

  • 2017 No. 3 overall pick
  • 2017 third-round pick (67 overall)
  • 2017 fourth-round pick (111 overall)
  • 2018 third-round pick

Then, the Bears ended up using the pick on North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

With all due respect to Trubisky, this pick is hilarious. The Bears shelled out a huge three-year, $45 million contract to Mike Glennon just a few months ago, and now they just essentially spent four draft picks on a new quarterback, one that wasn’t even the consensus best quarterback in the draft.

The Detroit Lions are a few hours from making their decision, but for the moment, let’s enjoy the sad Bears fans:
