It only took two picks for the NFL Draft to get wacky. The Chicago Bears trading up one spot from Pick 3 to Pick 2 was puzzling enough. Then it turns out the Bears paid a heavy ransom just to move to the No. 2 pick. Here’s it ended up costing them:
- 2017 No. 3 overall pick
- 2017 third-round pick (67 overall)
- 2017 fourth-round pick (111 overall)
- 2018 third-round pick
Then, the Bears ended up using the pick on North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
With all due respect to Trubisky, this pick is hilarious. The Bears shelled out a huge three-year, $45 million contract to Mike Glennon just a few months ago, and now they just essentially spent four draft picks on a new quarterback, one that wasn’t even the consensus best quarterback in the draft.
The Detroit Lions are a few hours from making their decision, but for the moment, let’s enjoy the sad Bears fans:

Darius Slay had a great reaction to the pick:
Homie go get picked off lol

While Eric Ebron, fellow Tarheel, was more conflicted:
Dang lol I gotta beat him twice a year my poor friend
