The New York Jets hold the sixth pick in the NFL Draft. Darius.Slayer23 is the acting general manager for the Jets and with the sixth overall pick, the Jets have selected linebacker Reuben Foster out of Alabama. Below Darius.Slayer23 explains the pick:
“With the way the board fell, the main targets of our organization were taken. We planned on taking one of the main three defensive back targets, but all three were gone. Last year, former first-round pick Darron Lee was a major disappointment, and starter David Harris is on the wrong side of 30. Behind those two, the depth at linebacker isn't strong. Then comes Reuben Foster. While many think he will drop due to the fiasco at the NFL Combine and possible health concerns, it's difficult to pass on a guy we believe is a top-4 talent. Last year, we ranked in the bottom half of the league in pass defense and middle of the league in run defense. Foster, combined with our dominant defensive line, will make us rank in the top 10 in both categories. His aggressiveness and high-tier athleticism immediately upgrade the middle of our defense.”
