Dan Orlovsky says Matthew Stafford knows he’s a ‘unicorn’

And everything about it was magical.

While Matthew Stafford’s impending contract extension will sound like it’s made up of more money than you could even begin to imagine, his ex-teammate is on Twitter conjuring up mythical beasts that are also out of this world.

Thursday morning, Pro Football Talk’s Darrin Gant ran with a quote from the article Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press published Wednesday afternoon. Birkett got Stafford on the record talking about if his contract talks are aligned with that of other quarterbacks looking to ink extensions this summer, like Kirk Cousins and Derek Carr:

“I’m not too worried about what those guys do," Stafford said after Day 2 of Lions minicamp. "I’m just worried about trying to get better out here. That’s pretty much all I can say. This time of year to me is football time. I’m out here playing football, trying to get better to help this team win."

What ensued was nothing short of magical.

Pro Football Talk’s twitter shot out a tweet that read “Matthew Stafford’s not worried about the other quarterbacks who are about to get rich,” which earned this response from former Lions backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky:

PFT wasn’t ready to be outdone, responding with the perfect gif:

The potential contract Stafford could sign this summer will be for more money than anyone could possibly wrap their brain around, but then again, my brain is still trying to make sense of how those eight come-from-behind victories came to fruition.
