11 Sundays until football. Five Sundays until the Detroit Lions report to training camp. The days are starting to get shorter as is the time between now and football. But that means we still have over a month to keep ourselves occupied.
For the past six months we’ve at least had the thrill of the NBA and NHL seasons, even if the Red Wings and the Pistons let us down. We still have baseball to feed the insatiable hunger of sports, but the Tigers aren’t exactly must-see-TV.
So today’s Question of the Day is:
How will you be passing time for the next month of the offseason?
My answer: Well, besides conducting the Name Bracket and lamenting over the loss of Jace Billingsley in the tournament, I also happen to be a bit of a TV addict. Though “Better Call Saul” and “Fargo” just ended their seasons, I still have the finales of “Veep” and “Silicon Valley” to look forward to tonight.
After that, however, there’s a big void in good TV. I may check out that “GLOW” show on Netflix and the Showtime series “I’m dying up here” has shown some early promise. I may try and check out shows I’ve missed (“The Leftovers”, “Sons of Anarchy”) Otherwise, I’m am fully open to suggestions.
Or, you know, I may read a book or two.
Your turn. What are you doing? Vacationing? Have any reading/listening/viewing suggestions? Share them!
