Free agent linebacker Zach Orr will spend Thursday night in Detroit as his physical with the Lions will continue into Friday morning. According to Orr’s agent, via NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Detroit’s doctors will finish blood tests on Friday. As for the rest of his medical evaluation, Orr’s agent says Lions doctors are “pleased with everything so far, overtly positive.”

Orr is attempting to come out of retirement after Ravens’ doctors found a congenital spine condition that they believed should end his football career. On Wednesday, Orr announced on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” that he had received a second opinion on his condition and those doctors believe he is able to play with no significant additional risk.

The Lions immediately reached out to Orr and set up a visit that began on Thursday. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, eight different teams reached out to the 2016 second-team All Pro linebacker. Orr’s agent said on Thursday night that his client was actually drawing double the attention:

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Orr plans to visit every team that has reached out before making a decision on where to sign, so don’t expect any news of a deal being struck right away.
