The PODcast doesn’t have the luxury of timing on its side. We know the Calvin Johnson story is already a little old, but what is old in this offseason? We just had the ESPYs, considered to be the lowest point in the sports calendar. I don’t get anything except ESPN2 where I’m staying, so we can either talk about this or e-sports. I don’t know if that would go over better than wrestling with ya’ll.

Either way, we’re going to talk Lions, we’re going to talk about them in the offseason, and we’re going to LISTCAST. Wide receivers was slated for today, and there’s plenty to talk there as we whittle away at July and hope for football.

This week on the PODcast

  • Calvin Johnson speaks out from Italy and shares his thoughts on the Lions and their chances to win the big one in seasons past, further illuminating reasons why he left the Lions. We might have a few quibbles, but you’ll have to listen for the takes.
  • Wide receiver LISTCAST slept on one athlete last year, and he’s coming in hot now. Is there justification to think of Golden Tate as a top ten receiver? One PODcast member believes so.
  • Mailbag digs into Ren Fairs, contract extensions and the band most despised by Ryan Mathews.
