Lions rookies report on Monday. Who are you eager to see on the playing field?

NFL: Detroit Lions-Minicamp Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions rookies report to camp on Monday, meaning the 2017 training camp season is finally upon us.

It has been a grueling six months since the Lions last took the field, but we’ve endured it together and it’s finally going to pay off. Though the veterans don’t report until Saturday, we’re bound to get some actual news, quotes and perhaps even a little analysis of Detroit 2017 rookie class all week.

So today’ Question of the Day is:

Which Detroit Lions rookie are you most excited to see at training camp?

My answer: It has to be Jarrad Davis. The Lions will be relying on Davis as heavily as they did with Taylor Decker as a rookie last year.

If I’m being completely honest, I’ve been a little lukewarm on Davis ever since the Lions made the pick. It was obviously the Lions’ biggest need and he provided decent value at 21 overall, but as an individual prospect, Davis wasn’t all that exciting to me. On tape, he’s fairly reliable and well-rounded, but nothing he does particularly jumps out on film.

I can’t wait to see him in pads to see what he can really do out there at a professional level. I want to see how he carries himself as the quarterback of the defense and how he handles a brand new defensive playbook. I just want to see how the biggest key to Detroit’s success on defense reacts to the pressure.

If the Lions want to prove all of their doubters wrong, they’ll have to improve drastically on defense. That all starts with Davis and the rest of the linebacker crew, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Your turn.
