The Detroit Lions begin training camp practice in just a matter of hours, and it now appears they’ll have the services of more players than expected. The team announced on Sunday that defensive end Cornelius Washington and offensive tackle Greg Robinson have been removed from the Non-Football Injury list.
Both Robinson and Washington were placed on the list Saturday afternoon with undisclosed injuries. While it’s unclear whether both players will be available for Sunday’s practice, their removal from the list is a good sign that their injuries are not considered serious.
As camp begins, the Lions only have one player left on the NFI list, punter Sam Martin. Martin was placed on the list on Tuesday after suffering an ankle injury earlier in the month. However, head coach Jim Caldwell downplayed the injury during his press conference on Sunday. “We expect him to come back sometime during training camp,” Caldwell said.
While the NFI list appears to be clearing up, the Lions’ Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list remains crowded. The Lions will start camp with eight players on the PUP list, including Ezekiel Ansah and Taylor Decker.
Below are the updated injury lists.
