Lions-Colts Day 2 joint practice live updates, open thread

Follow along as the Lions and Colts complete Day 2 of joint practices.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts face off on the practice field for the second straight day on Friday morning. Thursday, the Lions seemed to have the upper hand on the Colts. Actually, we’re downplaying it. They looked dominant. Just take this Colts beat writer’s reaction halfway through practice:

The Lions return to the practice field in Indianapolis Friday hoping to build on yesterday’s performance. Though Detroit looked like the better team, there were plenty of areas that needed improvement. According to Kyle Meinke, the Lions receivers dropped a lot of balls on Friday, while the offensive line continues to be an issue.

One of the biggest things to look for is the status of Lions right tackle Rick Wagner. In Thursday’s practice, Wagner had to leave the field early due to an undisclosed injury. Head coach Jim Caldwell seemed to downplay the injury, calling it “a little issue, but he’ll be alright.” Detroit is already ailing with starters Taylor Decker and T.J. Lang suffering from injuries, and while Wagner’s injury doesn’t appear serious, the Lions could really benefit from their starters getting as many reps as possible.

Practice begins again at 9:30 a.m. ET, so make sure you’re here to get all of your updates as they come in. As always, we have our Lions news Twitter list here to give you live news.
