The day is finally here. The wait is finally over. Seven months of extreme patience and seemingly endless waiting will come to an end on Sunday.
Okay, maybe I’m overreacting a bit. This is a preseason game we’re talking about and real football is still a month away. But, gosh darnit, I’m excited. We haven’t seen Lions football on television since before fidget spinners were a thing. Time to merge those two worlds.
The Detroit Lions 2017 season is nearly underway. The Lions and Indianapolis Colts will be one of the final NFL teams to kick off their preseason schedule when the two teams face off at Lucas Oil Stadium at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The two teams are well familiar with each other after a pair of joint practices this week. While the Lions looked pretty dominant in the first session on Thursday, the Colts rebounded on Friday, dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball.
The Colts will be without Andrew Luck and Matthew Stafford won’t likely play more than a series or two, but there are plenty of position battles to watch on Sunday, including left tackle, nickel corner and defensive end.
Below is all of the information you need before Sunday’s game. Let’s go Lions!
