On Wednesday, the Detroit Lions invited media members to Ford Field to try a myriad of new menu items located around several new restaurants in the stadium. Through a bunch of new concession stands, both local and otherwise, Detroit is offering a diverse spread of eats and drinks for the 2017 season.
Here’s a quick recap of some of the new offerings:
Hopcat crack fries: A serving of french fries with Hopcat’s special black pepper seasoning, available “loaded” with cheese sauce, red onion, jalapenos and bacon.
#Leinydog: Footlong beer cheese hot dog, made with Leinenkugel beer, wrapped in a pretzel.
Bigalora: Wood-fired pizza made from the local restaurant
Flowers of Vietnam: Korean-fried caramel chicken wings
El Asador tacos: Street steak tacos
Slows BBQ: Smoked pork or chicken nachos
Corridor Sausage Company: Bacon and beer sausages with chips
Russell St. Deli: Lamb sloppy joes with greek yogurt sauce
“Michigan” Marys and The Long Snapper drinks: Ford Field’s twist on the Bloody Mary and a new Honolulu Blue drink made with vodka, citrus soda and Blue Curacao
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Which new menu item are you most eager to try at Ford Field?
My answer: While I’m not familiar with these crack fries that a lot of people seem to vouch for, I’m most excited for those chicken wings. Flowers of Vietnam looks like a legit restaurant, and it was even named one of the top 10 new restaurants in Detroit by the Free Press.
Just look at these wings and tell me they don’t look amazing.
