The Lions take the field Friday, but you should probably get ready with First Byte first. It’s our preview podcast, filleted and fried for 30 minutes so it can be consumed in just about that amount of time.

This week we had on Brian Phillips from Pats Pulpit to help break down the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Haven’t heard enough about them? Don’t worry, there’s more where that came from. Brian’s eager to talk about the problems facing the Patriots (oh no) and concerns for the coming season, not to mention highlighting a few key individuals of note like Kyle Van Noy, who Lions fans will certainly remember. He also explains why it’s a terrible idea to think about letting Matthew Stafford go in place of grabbing Jimmy Garoppolo.
