It is time. The waiting is over. The time for predictions, power rankings, meaningless exhibition games and roster maneuvering is over. Today the Detroit Lions play football and it means something.

The Arizona Cardinals are in town, and, lately, that has not been good news. The Cardinals have won seven straight in this series, dating all the way back to 2005 (though five of those contests have been in Arizona). In that game, over a decade ago, Joey Harrington threw for three touchdowns and finished with the third-best passer rating of his career (121.8).

But a lot has changed even since the two teams faced off back in 2015. Matthew Stafford has since transformed into one of the best quarterbacks in the league, while the Cardinals are coming off a disappointing, humbling 2016 season.

It’s Week 1 and no one really know where the teams stand for the 2017 season. But we do know when and where the two teams will face off on Sunday.
